Our first project in CP Graphic Design 2 was a monochromatic, vector self-portrait. We had to chose a color and create a value scale with it. We took the picture using a webcam, converted it to grayscale, and traced the gray shapes in Adobe Illustrator. We used the value scale and translated the various shades of gray from the picture into shades of the color we chose. The complimentary color serves as the background to the portrait.
